Estate Sale Listings On Social Media Becoming Popular

Finding estate sales on social media is becoming very popular.

Many estate sale companies are using Facebook, reddit, Google+, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube to attract the attention of buyers.

Estate sale companies like to reach the broadest audience possible and social media is growing by leaps and bounds.

A posting of an estate sale that is boosted can reach a national audience without competing with the sale listed right below it. Many estate liquidators are finding they get more bang for their buck using social media. Most still list on estate sale advertising websites, however, getting their message out and showcasing what will be for sale is vital to the financial bottom line for sellers and estate sale companies.

When you attend an estate sale, ask them if they post their sales on social media? It may require you to join to be able to view, but with privacy controls you can still see your local estate liquidators and their sales without becoming fully engaged on the media.

The estate sale shown below was condcuted and completed, but appeared on Facebook, along with it’s original listing on EstateSale.com. You may even find that you will see some photos, or additional closeup photos on social media.

Estate Sale Advertising Is Now Big Business

Estate sale advertising is growing. The number of companies  offering various types of advertising is increasing. Businesses have been created to meet the demand for getting the information out. Some are paid by estate sale companies and some through advertisers.

You have the major estate sale advertising listing websites and they have now included auctions (both online and on site) as well as social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, Google+, Instagram, email services, and craigslist.

Although most estate sale companies have their own websites, several successful companies utilize a variety social media to get their estate sale information out to the public.

The advertising listing websites offer estate sale companies the opportunity to post hundreds of photos,  a list of items for sale or descriptions, the ability to feature their sales, email notifications to their subscribers, and the ability to search for items. All three charge fees to be listed, some more than others, along with some that offer advice about estate sales, however, this information is based on conversations with liquidators. Their information is not based on their own experience. This was written about in the autumn of 2015 here on Estate Sales News in response to our survey questions. They are advertising sites for estate sale companies and estate sales that are compensated by estate sale companies.

What Estate Sale Customers And Clients Need – Informative, Fresh, Updated

SEstate Sales Newseveral weeks ago I read an article on the internet for small businesses that said that 97% of people research products and services. Today as I was thinking about what topic to write about and I recalled this article and thought it was appropriate to discuss what 97% of those individuals were concerned with.

In today’s liquidation world with 1000’s of estate sale companies (estimates now of well over 10,000 in the United States alone) there are so many liquidators to choose from. It reminded me of many years ago when I was in the real estate business and one of the seminar instructors’ said to stay on top you need to keep your clients informed, updated, and keep your brochures fresh. This rekindled the reference in my mind to that more recent article.

Well that was before the internet became such an integral part of our everyday life, but it is even more important today than it was 30 years ago.

When prospective clients search the internet for an estate sale company they want to look at websites that are kept up to date, fresh, and informative. Many prospective sellers spend a quite a bit of time looking and reviewing companies on the internet and if the websites they are looking at never seem to change or be modified, the questions start to enter their minds, are they too busy, don’t they care, are they still in business, etc. Many companies have websites built and then never change them after their launch.

Estate sale companies in general are extremely busy today, however, time needs to be allotted to work on the website or Facebook page to let clients know you are active, keeping up with the continually changing landscape of the estate industry and staying “on top of the game” so to speak.

Customers want to see what to look forward to at upcoming sales and if you are conducting sales in the future. They are interested in upcoming sales or events. Clients want to read about any changes that might affect their potential sales. They recognize when websites or pages are left unattended and do not change and if old information remains static that gives the appearance of lack of concern and importance.

It isn’t easy to do all of this, however, as in any business a set time or hours should be set aside weekly to keep your page updated and also provide simple navigation. If you have a staff member that is proficient with technology consider paying them to provide this valuable visible service.

Whether you are a client or a customer, if you are checking on websites, take notice of these three important components. It’s a good start to determining if this is the company for you.

Please “like” us on Facebook, “follow” us on Twitter, and let the estate sale companies you visit or speak with know that you read EstateSalesNews.com – Your free internet resource to learn about estate sales, information, and news. Thanks and happy Tuesday

What’s Driving Thousands Of Buyers To Estate Sales – Resale And Baby Boomers

lining upSpring fever for parts of the country that have endured a hard winter is bringing out buyers to estate sales, but that isn’t the only reason.

1000’s of estate sales are taking place every weekend all over the country. The baby boomer generation is retiring and on the move. You would think with the large volume of personal property for sale this would prevent estate sales from selling to the walls, however, that is not the case.

Estate sales are a good place to buy reasonably priced used furnishings, household, clothing, jewelry, art, and more keeping green and that continues, however, other reasons are now driving estate sale attendance to higher levels than we have seen in the past.

Whether it is to earn extra money, or as a full time entrepreneur working from home people are showing up at estate liquidations to look for items that can be either repurposed and then resold or resold as is on eBay, Craigslist, Facebook, Amazon, NextWorth (electronics), Etsy, Copious and Threadflip (clothing), in consignment shops, and the list continues growing. There are names here you may not be familiar with, but they are on the Internet and online resales are going strong. Online magazines and blogs are out there to provide further information about these websites.

Everything from clothing, jewelry, records, magazines, electronics, linens, home furnishings, cars, lawn furniture and tools is being bought and resold.

Estate sale companies are increasing their marketing reach and that has increased the attendance at their estate sales.

Another week has started and estate liquidators are already at work preparing for sales this weekend. Next weekend celebrates Passover and Easter so the number of estate sales will probably decrease with families spending time together, but there may still be sales in your area so check out estate sale listing websites and when you see a long line think about other businesses that have been created by the estate sales business.

New Advertising Ideas For Estate Sales In 2015 – Facebook

facebook-logo2015 has begun with many places experiencing stormy weather and the addition of many new companies.

Now is a great time to start implementing new or different advertising.

We have talked about social media, however, in 2015 getting your message out to a large audience is vital and Facebook may well be the newest and best way to advertise without breaking your budget. If you don’t have a Facebook business page you should and be posting about your upcoming estate sales and company. Consider boosting your Facebook page posts. You can boost your post for as little as $5.00/day and keep your promote your website with or without a targeted audience for $10.00/day or more. Affordable with a wide audience.

Craig Robinson of Guerrilla Marketing wrote an article back in September of 2012 “Facebook vs Google”.

To quote Mr. Robinson from his article “With Google, you’re attempting to drive people to a destination. That destination isn’t on “Google” per se; it’s just your site. On Facebook, you’re driving within the network and can drive outside of it. Thus you can narrow the focus tremendously. Your fan page or business page can pick up a head of stream through likes and sharing and unique content within the social context of the Facebook framework. You have many different filters that can be applied to help you keep this focus as narrow or as broad as you wish. It’s much easier to reach the right audience, and the word-of-mouth factor is exponentially increased on a social network when compared to the Internet at large.”

In a January 15th, 2014 article in the New York Times by Eilene Zimmerman wrote about Facebook revamping their ads to compete with Google click here for link to article .

Putting it simply Facebook likes can do more for your estate sales attendance and website than Google and your audience is broad and can grow.

Twitter also offers advertising although some question it’s effectiveness, however, keeping your Twitter audience connected to Facebook with #(hashtags) and mentions can be of great assistance.

With the growing number of estate sale companies, keeping a step ahead of your competition is not only important to you, but to your sellers.

When interviewing and conducting your presentations with perspective sellers either with the use of tablets, laptops, or print media showcase your Facebook business page. Let the world know you are there and what your selling.

You can also consider writing a blog. Keeping people engaged is the key to success for media marketing.

Sellers when you are considering estate sale companies ask them to show you their advertising and provide you with where and how they advertise. In rural areas and some metro areas some estate liquidators continue with print media as well for those that may not be internet connected.
