Cyber Attack On Twitter Prevents EstateSalesNews.com Tweet

A cyber attack on Twitter prevented EstateSalesNews.com from tweeting it’s Friday article. We were able to tweet the article late Friday afternoon.

Twitter wasn’t the only website attacked. It also involved Netflix and other major websites.

It is important to call this to our audience attention. Cyber attacks can occur on any website. This is disconcerting about social media sites because thousand of estate liquidators use them.

This is an important concern for any estate sale company using social media.

As perspective sellers or buyers be sure if you receive emails on a regular basis that you check the estate sale company website in case an email does not arrive on schedule in your mail box so you won’t miss any news or upcoming estate sale info.

Estate Sale Companies Advertising More On Social Media

Estate sale companies are using social media advertising more and more.

Reaching broader targeted audiences while controlling costs and not be in direct competition with other estate sales makes social media perfect for estate sale companies. Social media advertising is playing a key roll in advertising and expanding the reach of estate sale companies.

Facebook and Instagram are seeing the largest increases in use.

Estate sale companies can use Instagram for free, and boosting a post on Facebook can cost whatever an estate sale company wants to pay. An estate liquidator can also target their audience.

Estate sale companies still use estate sale advertising websites, however, as competition continues to grow they are looking to new outlets to reach audiences.

You will need to be a member of Facebook and Instagram, however, it is free. If you choose you can receive only notifications from estate sale companies in your area. You can put a “like” on the page for the estate sale company or companies you follow.

Facebook has the largest audience and targeting audiences can include people who like vintage, antiques, collectors, etc.

Instagram showcases photos without them competing with the photos of other estate sale companies.

Twitter also is a social media tool, but isn’t used as much as Facebook and Instagram.

Check out these social media websites today. Halloween, Thanksgiving and Christmas are rapidly approaching. If you love estate sales and shop weekly don’t miss out. A great time to shop at estate sales.

Estate Sales Friday

It’s estate sales Friday. There are many estate sales across the country.

East coast to west coast, north to south estate sales are happening by the thousands.

High end estate sales, hoarder sales, estate sales with collections, privately listed estate sales.

If you are looking for an estate sale company this is a great weekend to go out and visit estate sales in your area.

Check out the way they handle entering the sale. How does the estate sale appear. Is it staged well? Are signs posted about all sales final, no returns, forms of payments accepted, security and more?

Look at the way items are priced and tagged. Did they use tags, adhesive tape, stickers and what type of items were they placed on. Ephemera especially should be carefully tagged (best in a plastic bag) and then a sticker on the bag so no damage to the item.

It is also time to think about what you might need for Thanksgiving and/or Christmas. Now is a great time to start shopping for dishes, glassware, flatware, decorations etc.

A reminder – PLEASE read the terms, conditions, and descriptions of each estate sale on the various advertising websites. Being empowered with knowledge before attending an estate sale is very important for many reasons.

Bring you estate sale kit with you, including flashlight, bags and boxes, wrapping, water and a loop or magnifying glass..

Be sure to check out each one of these estate sale advertising websites. Many estate liquidators only use one advertising website. Don’t forget to check out Facebook, Twitter and Instagram too.

Happy shopping and here is where you can find estate sales this weekend.

Estate Liquidators Wear Many Hats With Expertise

Estate liquidators wears many hats with expertise in a variety of fields associated with the liquidation of personal property.

Personal property liquidators are individuals earning a living as entrepreneurs. They do not work a five day a week job from 9-5. Estate liquidators require time management ability, motivation, dedication, knowledge, marketing skills, and more. They must determine their schedule, time, and requirements for each estate sale.

An estate sale liquidator must know and understand what the estate sale process is. Liquidators need knowledge in selling personal property. Estate sale company owners will work endless long hours and weekends. Often with no days off for weeks at a time.

Estate liquidators need to be a business person, salesperson, and negotiator. Liquidators have to be able to handle any situations that arise during the sale.

Estate Sale Listings On Social Media Becoming Popular

Finding estate sales on social media is becoming very popular.

Many estate sale companies are using Facebook, reddit, Google+, Instagram, Twitter, and YouTube to attract the attention of buyers.

Estate sale companies like to reach the broadest audience possible and social media is growing by leaps and bounds.

A posting of an estate sale that is boosted can reach a national audience without competing with the sale listed right below it. Many estate liquidators are finding they get more bang for their buck using social media. Most still list on estate sale advertising websites, however, getting their message out and showcasing what will be for sale is vital to the financial bottom line for sellers and estate sale companies.

When you attend an estate sale, ask them if they post their sales on social media? It may require you to join to be able to view, but with privacy controls you can still see your local estate liquidators and their sales without becoming fully engaged on the media.

The estate sale shown below was condcuted and completed, but appeared on Facebook, along with it’s original listing on EstateSale.com. You may even find that you will see some photos, or additional closeup photos on social media.

Estate Sale Advertising Is Now Big Business

Estate sale advertising is growing. The number of companies  offering various types of advertising is increasing. Businesses have been created to meet the demand for getting the information out. Some are paid by estate sale companies and some through advertisers.

You have the major estate sale advertising listing websites and they have now included auctions (both online and on site) as well as social media sites such as Facebook, Twitter, Pinterest, Tumblr, YouTube, Google+, Instagram, email services, and craigslist.

Although most estate sale companies have their own websites, several successful companies utilize a variety social media to get their estate sale information out to the public.

The advertising listing websites offer estate sale companies the opportunity to post hundreds of photos,  a list of items for sale or descriptions, the ability to feature their sales, email notifications to their subscribers, and the ability to search for items. All three charge fees to be listed, some more than others, along with some that offer advice about estate sales, however, this information is based on conversations with liquidators. Their information is not based on their own experience. This was written about in the autumn of 2015 here on Estate Sales News in response to our survey questions. They are advertising sites for estate sale companies and estate sales that are compensated by estate sale companies.
