3 Weeks ToThanksgiving Estate Sales Black Friday Is Now

Estate sales are Black Friday opportunities every weekend.

Yesterday on the news they were talking about Black Friday shopping. The Friday after Thanksgiving is the biggest shopping day of the year for most retailers.  Many stores and online retailers are already offering significant discounts. This may reduce the number of people shopping retail on Black Friday.

People wait for Black Friday and Cyber Monday to buy for themselves and Christmas.

Another weekend of estate sales starts today. Opportunities for buyers are at estate sales every weekend.

Why pay retail when you can pay estate sale prices which are significantly below retail prices?

Now is the time to shop for your Thanksgiving needs and Christmas gifts. From flat screen TVs to brand new clothes with the price tags still on.

Great sales can be found in most every state.

Black Friday For Retailers Is A Week Away, But Not For Estate Sales

Slide1Black Friday sales are a week from today. Retailers use this as a marketing ploy to bring buyers out for a limited number of deals and hopefully impulse buying.

Estate sale companies empowered and enlightened with marketing know how conduct sales every week, and most have a schedule of sale days. Their job is to sell out the property. Full price day one, and then depending on the liquidator lowering prices as each day of the sale proceeds.

When marketing think ahead of the curve, have shopping bags with your company logo or name on them, provide some packing paper (unprinted news print), if you have large valuable items have some bows to hand to those buyers, a business card to include with each receipt, possibly a giveaway (a magnet for the refrigerator or small calendar etc.) as a handout.

Present buyers with a reason to remember you and want to attend your future sales and remind them that every week thousands of Black Friday sales take place at estate sales.

Black Friday Sales Have Started, But Sales At Estate Sales Are Every Week

Yesterday as a walked around a Best Buy I was listening to salespeople speaking about their upcoming bargains on Black Friday. With just 14 days to go some stores are already selling items with market downs.

Are you on a budget? Do you have a large family to buy for? Then why wait for retailers, the masses, and possibly staying up all night when you can shop and save every weekend at an estate sale.

Let’s look at what’s selling this week at estate sales.

This week we have looked at what is on the east coast. Thousands of estate sales stretch from the Atlantic to Pacific ocean and they are ready and waiting for you. Great buys, rare and unique, vintage and collectible, sterling and gold, art, books, clothing, even wrapping paper and Christmas cards.  Anything you can find retail, you can find at estate sale depending on your area.

Keep your budget in tact, (you may even stretch your budget) surprise your friends and loved ones, and feel good about buying local. Shop the USA.

4 Days Until Black Friday – Estate Sales Are You Ready?

Slide1The day after Thanksgiving is called Black Friday.

The name Black Friday started in Philadelphia before 1961 mainly because of so many shoppers, pedestrian and vehicular trafffic, but the term started to be used more on a national basis around 1975. The reason given was that traditional retailers spent the majority of the year operating at a financial loss and the day after Thanksgiving signaled the day their accounting went from red to black. Hence Black Friday.

This has not been the case for estate sale companies. Due to the nature of the estate sale business most companies must operate in the black to stay in business, however, Thanksgiving and Black Friday present challenges to the estate liquidator.

Those that hold sales on this weekend know that they must be creative in their advertising and the way the sale is handled.

Many will offer some type of modest refreshments (cookies and perhaps cider), their sales are published not only on estate sale listing websites, but on all forms of social media, some in print, while many estate liquidators have started walking the surrounding neighborhoods leaving flyers about their upcoming estate sale and some may even offer modest gift wrapping.
